it's so funny. i only became a swiftie when folklore came out and obviously you were there from the beginning, madeline. but now you're actually discussing a lot of music i listened to too back then on TLR... regina spektor, marina and the diamonds. i find that kinda cool 😎 like, i think, i come from a similar place. Although somehow I didn’t hear this album until 2016 as I was leaving the Mormon church at age 26. You better believe I was blasting Teen Idle and Power & Control as I was deconstructing my belief system and building a much more free and beautiful one.
I cannot express enough how much I love this album!! I didn’t have tumblr, but found it a few years after it’s release and STILL found it life changing lol. I also love Froot, and saw her on her Love + Fear tour (even though I didn’t like that album lolol)
I was 20 when Electra heart came out. It’s everything to me… even still. Honestly I was such a confused young person at the time and my romantic life was in absolute chaos and I felt more broken than I ever have… and who was there for me… well “homewrecker” was… “I’m only happy when I’m on the run” … this album got me like nothing else.
Hilariously I attended the tour for this album and I had to buy my tickets TWICE because I lost the first set before the show (they were paper tickets… because I guess we were still doing that in 2012).
