I love being alive in a time where genre is actively being dissolved. It’s so interesting to watch and you’re so lucky that it’s your jobbb like diva!!! This is the dream!!!
Is it in the range of the possible to do a similar episode on Elliott Smith? He’s an artist that I know is a significant influence on so many, but I am among the uninitiated. Just listened to Waltz #2 on the playlist and ‼️ what a turn! I would love to understand him better… and who better than The Lizard 🦎
Ok whyyyyyyy are you in my brain?? Bc I swear for the last few weeks/months I’ve really been trying to get more into SZA, which I’ve tried in the past, but for some reason whenever I put on SOS it’s always when I’m getting ready and my mind just wanders and it fades into the background *which, I know, unforgivable but pls forgive me 😭🙈*
and I think you finally explained the reason whyyyyy lol and simultaneously gave the answer to how I can start clicking the fucking SZA seatbelt and lock IN. 🔒
Also for whatever reason 90% of LANA clicked hard on the first listen and has been on repeat so I don’t really know what’s going on with that lmaooo but it’s really made me want to accesss that level of resonance with her other projects so thank you for this! 🙏🏼 💖
I’m late to this one but how do you put into words everything I am thinking!! I was literally trying to articulate this to my ride or die swiftie and she was very skeptical. I am sending her this immediately
I only just started getting into SZA, I listened to the standard edition of SOS for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I've been letting those songs sit before I eventually listen to LANA. Listening to this was really helpful!! I feel like I understand the context of her as an artist more now. When listening to SOS, I was definitely taken aback by the versitility of it. And I also had to read the lyrics to know what she was saying half the time, so I'm glad to know that's not just me and is an actual known thing in her fanbase lol. This made me even more excited to delve into her other work!

I agree. I hear about Elliot smith a lot but I’ve never listened. I had no idea who he was until a few years ago

Incredible episode. To hear Elliott Smith in this way made me cry today.
I live in New Jersey and I’ll always say that I’m most proud of my state cause of the fact that we brought the world Halsey and SZA
