I saw a reddit comment that said an informal name for Lupus in the medical community is "The Great Masquerader" or "The Great Imitator" because it mimics the symptoms of lots of other diseases. So her tying the theme of her chronic illness with her shapeshifting sensibilities is MUAHHHHH *chefs kisss* she's actually so clever it's so unfortunate she comes across as cringe to the unwashed masses because she's one of those artists whose going to stand the test of time IMO
Loved your reaction on the Patreon and this deeper analysis as well. Dog Years and Arsonist were immediate stand outs to me! Definitely need more time to percolate on the album as a whole
Well the tea of it all is that I accidentally called Bruce Springsteen Billy Joel so I had to edit it out 😭 I was like you know I could just make a note that I meant to say Bruce Spingsteen but idk if I can bear the humiliation so let’s just pretend that didn’t happen……………
I haven’t listened yet, I’m moving and don’t have time. Will catch up later. But I did listen to the album yesterday and loved it. I know you probably did too. I’ve also done a complete 180 on lucky after the contest of the entire album. I thinks it’s a great song. Does anyone else hear the Monica Angel of Mine sample on it? Is she credited? Idk 🤷🏽♀️ can’t wait to listen Lizard! Happy Halsey week everybody!
I LOVED the title track bc it sounds like a theater kid song and really framed the album as a play for me. Especially with the interludes; They feel like they denote the acts of the play and Letter to God I is a demented I Want song.
I'm not going to be able to talk about this album for while, so I'm grateful you're pushing through to talk about it. Also, the critics are LOVING it AS. THEY. SHOULD.
My favorite thing about the lizard review is when you say “I can’t get into it” and then proceed to very much get into it. Brava!
LMFAGJREIOGJERIOGAJRIGOJ WELL YES!!!
The lack of tears on THIS PARTICULAR EPISODE is sending me.
I was dry as a bone. Literally not a tear in the house I cried it all out
Monstro elisasue mentioned ⁉️⁉️⁉️
You cannot convince me that the only living girl in LA isn’t a riff on the only living boy in NY by Simon and Garfunkel.
This is like if Gasoline was a whole album…
I AM SAT!!!
I'm sat like I've never sat before OMG

Where is the analysis of I never loved you?
You mean ARSONIST!
GAGGED for that 😻 but you skipped over INLY cause you already spoke about it but I can’t find where !!
It was in one of my new music Sunday episodes I think though I sincerely cannot remember which LMFAO!!

Thank you for this episode Madeline! You are the perfect person to tackle this album (but we knew this)!
What did you think of the images recreating Bruce Springsteen and Aaliyah?
