Thank you so much for that Gracie Abrams rant. I was hate listening to Every Single Album’s episode on Gracie’s album and I almost had a brain aneurysm over the fact that this artist is getting so much push and attention. I literally remember nothing about her set on Eras. I also would’ve lost it if my surprise song was wasted like that. Gracie Abrams is what happens when a mid level talent gets every door open, green light and dollar to pave her way. Why do you think Taylor supporting her so much? Is it because she wants Gracie’s dad to help her become a beloved director?
Well Zack made a comment to me about how he thinks it may somehow be related to the JJ Abrams of it all - she is after all trying to break into film so it’s more likely than you think….
The Japanese references were such a Rosalia from Temu ripoff. I've lived in Miami Beach/worked in Miami, and from my perspective this sounds nothing like that exotically captivating universe. Her album Family did a way better job capturing it -I remember hearing it a lot in Little Havanna. However, she was never big there. Latin rhythms and electro house music are the only industries to look at in MIA.
I've been a Camilizer since the beginning, and I think Camila knows who she is. I really think so. She's just that messy. She used to be utterly charming, sure, but she just lacks that wow factor. I don't think it's a matter of looking further into herself, she's just a lovable chaotic, awkward, pick-me Tumblr girly. It's such a pity because she possibly could have one of the most recognizable voices in pop music history. She has a one of a kind tone. Her downfall is one to study with close attention. I think it began when she did such a messy Romance album rollout, it was her Lover album but way too soon in her career lol. The relationship with Shawn completely overshadowed her. The racist allegations may have caused her to lose many useful friendships in the industry. The pandemic hit and she went through a hard time mentally and that was the point of no return, IMHO. She had been way too overworked during the 5H years and when it was finally her time to succeed, she lacked a strong support system to move forward. If she had had people to bring out the best in her, and worked with better producers (that Closer demo went crazy)... she could have had what Dua Lipa achieved.

my interpretation of B.O.A.T., though, is of the whole crying in the club kinda vibe. like she's being a party girl while being depressed. I thought it was nice especially bc it calls back to should've said it, and a certain kiss at Coachella. this idea of Shawn only wanting her when she has a man comes up A LOT and I think it's funny to hear her cook him a little. the auto tune kills me and some of the lyrics are fucking nonsense but overall this song to me is funny.
AND twentysomething’s is a rip off of a sza song… shocked you didn’t bring that up. this album is a hot ass mess. june gloom was referring to the album itself helloooo im feeling gloomy!
LMFAO I actually didn’t even think about that bc Twenty Something is not one of my fav SZA songs I can’t remember the last time I listened to it so it makes sense I don’t like this one either
Hahah tell us how you really feel about Gracie Abrams! So glad you loved your trip! You did the best thing in my opinion which is to stay for at least 10 days in a European city with so much to offer...you get to really know the place-- loved the EOAS talk you and Zack gave too on all of it!
