A lyrical analysis of one of the GREATEST songs that almost never was...a vault track deep from the archives of the original Golden Era of Taylor Swift : Foolish One from Speak Now (Taylor's Version.)
Ok you hated the cardigan I should have known 😂 thank you for this analysis I adore speak now, it’s a top 3 Taylor album for me. I think it has the best vault songs of all the TV’s, they all make sense to me. Foolish one is 10/10, chefs kiss. I will never not be annoyed that the speak now set on eras got one song by the time it hit Europe. Even two was not enough. But we got 22 ? I knew you were trouble? And the man ? Not mine? Not sparks fly? At least I got mine in surprise songs in Liverpool N1. I just prayed for any song at all from speak now in my 3 shows. ANY OF THEM
I was nodding along the whole hour - you really ate with this one 🙂↕️ Speak Now is truly whimsically romantic at it’s core and has depth that I think a lot of us wish Lover had more of. It was the original source of miserable and magical tales of love 💜
LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO It’s so funny because I went looking for like a romantic/valentine’s day coded intro but all of them were like…sad piano ballads?? And that’s not really the vibe so then I remembered I had this Paris intro music from when I did an episode about Paris by Taylor Swift and I was like …. what if…..LMFAO
I LOVE the sound of I can see you (and would love for her to do more like that), but foolish one is the diva. Should’ve been on the album in 2010.
And I think speak now’s sister album is TTPD. There is something volatile, vulnerable and verbose about TTPD that feels more like speak now than red (which I’ve seen in conversation before).
I had never thought about speak now in relation to lover. I see where you’re coming from, and will be re-listening to both, but lover has always felt too corporate for me.
And for ts12, I’m really interested in her discussing her legacy. Not just in a I love my fans way.
Lizard! Idk if you know this but you quoted Maybe This Time from the musical cabaret, which is Foolish One but in a different font!

This is possibly my favorite vault track 🥹
Honestly same. It's just so quintessentially Taylor. I can't believe we almost never had it
Me and mason being the only people in the world who ride for I can see you 😭
Love the new intro music but also made me feel kinda suicidal rn 😟 (not serious)
LMFAOOOO I get it.
Just deleted all my comments cause I just realised my app glitches and I was listening to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EPISODE but commenting on this LOLLL

Foolish one likely being re-recorded in 2022 🥴
